In my art, time is visible. Using dry ink, I textured this ancient tree, its gnarled form a tribute to resilience. It seems to have stood on this cliff for a millennium, a silent witness to the passing clouds.
But life never truly ends. On its seemingly withered branches, I touched in a few new buds with the brightest mineral blue-green. This vivid color is a messenger from spring, a promise of renewal. It contrasts with the tree’s age yet creates a perfect harmony—the classic Eastern image of “a withered tree meets spring.” In the deepest silence, life is always brewing.
The background is simple: a pale ochre sky and flowing clouds create a Zen-like, ethereal mood. Birds in flight add a touch of vitality. The soft green mountain serves as a quiet backdrop, accentuating the tree’s linear form.
This painting is my meditation on time and an ode to life’s power. May it bring you quiet joy and remind you that even on the highest branch, spring’s first message always arrives.
